Diverse uses of lime
Throughout time, lime has been a basic input used in various daily activities, whose benefits can help us with simple and ecological solutions.

Disinfection of fruits and vegetables
· For every liter of clean water, add one tablespoon of Calidra Hydrated Lime.
Soak the fruits and vegetables for 15 minutes to ensure they are completely disinfected.
Drain them and store them in the refrigerator.



Elimination of Parasites in Plants
· Dissolve 50 grams (10 tablespoons) of Calidra Hydrated Lime and 5 grams (2 tablespoons) of low-foaming detergent in 10 liters of clean water.
Apply directly to the foliage of plants or trees using a manual sprayer.

Elimination of bad odors
· Apply Calidra Hydrated Lime directly in garbage bins, drains, toilets, cat litter boxes, pet feces, or on dead animals.
You can also use it inside the refrigerator: pour some Calidra Hydrated Lime into an open container and place it in the door.



Tree Protector
Liming trees with Calidra Hydrated Lime provides protection against pest attacks and also prevents fungi and cracks caused by extreme sun and cold.
· To 1 liter of water, add 25 grams of Calidra Hydrated Lime.
Dissolve and apply along approximately 1 meter starting from the base of the trunk.

Eliminates mold
Clean tiles with Calidra Hydrated Lime water, which creates a long-lasting protective layer.
In a container with 1 liter of water, pour 1 tablespoon of Calidra Hydrated Lime, dissolve, and let it rest for 15 minutes. Use only the whitish water (the supernatant).



Flower preservative
Preserve your flowers by adding Calidra Hydrated Lime to your vases.
The lime promotes the conservation of the flowers and prevents the premature rotting of both the stems and the water.

Neutralize pet feces
Carefully pour Calidra Hydrated Lime powder over your pet's feces, covering them completely. This prevents the dissipation of germs and bad odors.
After a few hours, once the lime has taken effect, the waste can be collected without causing harm to the environment or humans.
The lime can also be applied inside the plastic bags used to collect the waste.



Wall patch/filler
· Mix three volumes of sand with one volume of Calidra Hydrated Lime.
· Add the necessary water until a paste is obtained.
· Pre-moisten the fissure or crack and apply the paste.
· Allow it to dry, and moisten it with clean water 3 times a day for the following two days.

Waterproofing
Material
· 19 L plastic bucket
· 2.5 kg of Calidra Hydrated Lime (5 L)
· 2 pewter pots
· 1⁄2 bar of yellow soap (200 g)
· 2 pewter spoons
· 50 g of alum stone
· 1 used broom or ixtle brush
Preparation
1. Dissolve soap and alum separately in boiling water.
2. In the bucket, add 10 liters of clean water and then, Calidra Hydrated Lime.
3. Shake until you obtain a slurry of lime.
4. Add the dissolved alum and stir for a moment.
5. Next, pour out the hot soap solution, shaking vigorously.
